What We Collect
When you use icanbudget, we collect:
- Your email address (for account authentication)
- Budget data you enter (categories, expenses, income, savings)
- Feedback you submit through the app
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide the icanbudget service to you. We use it to:
- Display your budget information
- Calculate totals and progress
- Generate exports when you request them
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted database provider. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your budget data is only accessible to you through your authenticated account.
What We Don't Do
- We do not sell your data to third parties
- We do not share your data with advertisers
- We do not use your financial data for any purpose other than providing the service
- We do not access your data unless required for technical support (with your permission)
Your Rights
You can:
- Export all your data at any time through the Settings page
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Request information about what data we have
Account Deletion & Data Retention
When you delete your account, we permanently delete all of your budget data, financial records, categories, savings goals, and personal preferences. This deletion is immediate and irreversible.
After deletion, we may retain the following minimal information for business record-keeping, fraud prevention, and legal compliance:
- Your email address and the date your account was deleted
- Account metadata such as your signup date and subscription dates
- Whether you had an active subscription, any promotional offers applied, and which invite code you used
- Aggregate usage statistics such as the number of expense entries and months of data
- Any feedback you voluntarily submitted (such as cancellation or deletion feedback)
This retained information does not include any of your individual budget entries, financial records, category names, or other personal content you entered into the app. It is limited to general account metadata and aggregate counts.
Our payment processor (Stripe) may independently retain transaction records in accordance with their own privacy policy and legal obligations.
